When I went all the way to Chicagoland, I decided for myself that I would also have to see
downtown Chicago itself. It doesn't happen a lot that you go on vacation to America -
4000 miles from home. I only went to Chicago for one day though. It was Friday;
the last day before I would have to go back to The Netherlands.

Friday
This morning I woke up at 8:30 AM. Had a shower, breakfast and jumped on my bike
at 9:15 AM to catch the 9:28 AM train to Chicago from the Route 59 Station.
The train arrived in Chicago around 10:30 AM, as I walked out of the
Union Station I first didn't really know where to go, but then decided
to walk into the same direction as everyone did.
The first thing I saw was a bridge over a river that I remembered from
this car racing game of Microsoft that lets you speed through downtown Chicago.
The second thing was the Sears tower. A very impressive building in my opinion!!
I went to the 103rd floor where the outlook was awesome, although the
view over Chicago from the airplane was better. :-)

After getting out of the Sears Tower I walked into the direction of the lake. I remembered
talking to Jessie (when I still thought she was Laura) - wishing I'd be walking there with her.
Laura had to go to school though - so she wasn't there. I walked to the Planetarium from
there to get a picture of downtown Chicago. It was impressive to see the approaching
planes for Meigs Airport from there. I think I already love Chicago. Which is also
because I love Laura. There's no way I would deny such a thing. :-)

Chicago is just such a place, where you should've been at least once in your life.
If you're from Chicago, don't forget to visit Amsterdam. Many American people love it.
At 3:20 PM I took the train back to Aurora. I were back in my hotel room at 4:30 PM.
At the moment I came into the room, the phone rang. It was Julie -
wanting to meet me at the Fox Valley Mall later that day.
